烽火音樂莭 Yangzhou Fire Music Festival Day 2

 

 

The second day of the festival started off with an exhibition of some music photographers in China. I had a few photos in the exhibition as well but unfortunately, it was so windy that the photos had to be laid on the ground as the window was blowing the photos over all the time.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Lots of people came to see the photos but it was mostly old people and children.

 

 

 

 

The first band for the second day was 戴斯蒙德&MCAV. They put on a good performance despite being the first band to play and the small crowd in attendance at the beginning of the day.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It was so hot outside that most of the photographers down tools between sets and went to hide in the shade.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Now next up was a kids band made up of blind kids and kids with handicaps. I did not save the band onto my site as I am sure they were playing together as a once off. I could see the kids were super excited to be playing on stage but I felt bad shooting them. I guess I feel bad shooting blind people as they have no idea that I am shooting them. But they kids played well. They only performed three songs but they had fun and the crowd enjoyed it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Next up was a short little song and love confession by one of the band drummers to his wife.

 

 

 

 

With the end of the kiss, it was time to get the show on the road again with the last few big bands to close the show out.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Although this festival was not very long, only two days, I was so tired at the end of the second day. The stage was very low so I had to crouch most of the day and the pit at night was overrun with fans so I had to shoot from the stage which made getting good photos really hard. In-spite of my complaints, I had a really good time at the festival. Some pros skip small festivals because they feel that they are too good for the show, I love shooting small shows. Small shows are more intimate and you can meet some great people there. I will go back and shoot this festival next year again if they decide to hold it again.
