Baota shan Park Zhenjiang China
There is something about the older Chinese parks that attracts me, I am not sure what it is but I find it much more interesting and fulfilling to explore a older park than a newly build park in China. Baota Shan park is one of the older parks in Zhenjiang and is almost completely overlooked and forgotten. A lot of local Zhenjiang people don’t even know about the park so that made it a great place to explore.
I went to the park this spring and I nearly scared the ticket seller to death when I asked to buy a ticket for one person. I guess I was the first foreigner she has seen in many years. The park was very empty, just a few local old people walking around the park. It was very relaxing to walk around and shooting some photos without someone always following me around.
The pagoda is so old and dilapidated that they have closed it off to the public and you cannot climb up there anymore, it looks old and I love that. So many pagodas are rebuild ever few years and they look too modern and have lost their appeal. Old is good.
Mostly I only found old people relaxing in the park and they looked like they came here almost every single day.
The park is really beautiful in the spring and I enjoyed my time here exploring and shooting a little. I really love these small unexplored parks in Chinese cities.
